Some strong ghettohouse & techno movements

DJ Ford Foster seems to have been around for about 4 minutes (unless I'm late on the guy), but already there are various patches of fire strewn about the place.

Here's his first EP, released for free on Jon E Alpha's wonderfully consistent Western Panorama label...

...and here's a mix that has been slyly doing the rounds...

A second volume of his Function Trax series is set for release on Opal Tapes.

Slowcoaches - Tummy Bug single & video

Good modern guitar-based music doesn't seem to creep into my life much anymore, so it's refreshing when I hear a band like Slowcoaches. There are a few touches and nods to older, better indie with their own vibes on top of that. Two good lads and a lass. Enjoy this greasy music...

The video was edited by the Nottingham-based Turrell Brothers. 'Tummy Bug' is available for download as part of the 3 compilation, recently releasedby indie label One For The People to celebrate their third birthday.

'The Fallen Trapeze' - a film by Rob Blake & Silas Parry

Rob Blake is a talented bloke. He's currently in Leeds but will soon be bound for Berlin. I'll miss him.

Anyway,  here's a film named 'The Fallen Trapeze' from a couple of years back that he recently uploaded to his Vimeo account. The film's music comes from David Thomas Broughton.

New EP from Mossmade Beatz!!!

Mossmade Beatz (aka Cameron Moss) is a young producer from Leeds, and has put out another great instrumental gime EP - 'Samurai Warrior'. He's already had airplay from the likes of Spooky (Deja Vu), DJ Springy P (Pulse London) and Score5 (Rinse). All we need now is for the MCs to pull their fingers out and start vocalling these monsters. I'm looking at you Killa P, and you Jamakabi - you would both murder the tracks on 'Samurai Warrior'.

You can download the EP by clicking HERE.

And here's a showreel for the EP...

Richard Knight (Slumberjack Records) - 'A Purse Of Overdue Pennies' mix

Here is a downtempo, experimental and pretty damn sleek mix recorded by Richard Knight of the Manchester-based house label Slumberjack Records. This was made especially for the Crow Versus Crow radio show, which goes out on fortnightly Sundays from Calderdale's Phoenix FM.

Crow Versus Crow is broadcast every second Sunday from 6-8pm (FM radio and online, with a podcast uploaded after each show). Next one is this coming Sunday (10th September) and will feature some guest-babbling from yours truly.
